​Reduced timetable due to union protected industrial action​​​​​​​

From Monday 1 June, a reduced regional timetable will be in place until further notice, due to union protected industrial action. 

​Where possible, we’re providing replacement coach services to support customers. For more information, you can keep up to date via our Service updates​ page, or give our friendly team a call on 1800 872 467

​Spirit of Queensland​

​Services reduced from 4 to 2 per week – 1 x full return train service and 1 x return hybrid service:​

  • 1 full train return service: Wednesday depart Brisbane, Friday depart Cairns.
  • 1 hybrid return service (train/road coach): Friday depart Brisbane to Rockhampton on train service (the Tilt Train), replacement coach Rockhampton to Cairns. Sunday departure from Cairns offers coach to Rockhampton then Tilt Train to Brisbane​.
  • The other two services departing Brisbane Monday and Saturday and departing from Cairns Monday and Wednesday are cancelled.
​Spirit of the Outback

​Operating per timetable with modified service – 1 x full return train service and 1 x return hybrid service:​

  • 1 full train return service: Tuesday depart Brisbane, Thursday depart Longreach.
  • 1 hybrid return service (train/road coach): Saturday depart Brisbane to Rockhampton on alternate train service (the Tilt Train), replacement coach Rockhampton to Longreach. Monday departure from Longreach offers coach to Rockhampton then Tilt Train to Brisbane​.
​Westlander
  • ​All train services are cancelled, with alternate coach transport (scheduled Greyhound).
  • RailBus services between Charleville and Cunnamulla/Quilpie are operating to a new timetable temporarily.​
​Inlander

Up to Friday 19 June 2026:

  • All train services are cancelled, with alternate coach transport (scheduled Greyhound).

From Saturday 20 June 2026:

  • Operating with reduced service – 1 x full return train service and 1 x return replacement coach service:

    • 1 full train return service: Saturday depart Townsville (westbound), Sunday depart Mount Isa (eastbound).
    • 1 return replacement coach service: Wednesday depart Townsville (westbound) and Thursday depart Mount Isa (eastbound). Services will operate by road coach, including during the upcoming school holiday period.
​Bundaberg Tilt Train

​​Operating as per usual timetable (9 return services per week).

​Rockhampton Tilt Train

​Operating as per usual timetable (15 return services per week).

​Kuranda Scenic Railway

​​Operating full timetable with slight change to departure times (2 return services per day).


Kuranda Scenic Railway services are continuing with minor timetable adjustments, visit the Kuranda Scenic Railway website for more details. The Gulflander is not expected to be impacted, visit the Gulflander website​ for travel options.​
