Queensland Rail Travel is currently reviewing the guidelines for filming and photography on Queensland Rail Travel property and on board services and is not accepting any requests for filming and or photography at present. However, if you are requesting to film on our services after the 1st of May, please send through your application.
Queensland Rail receives many requests for filming and photography on and around our stations, city network and long distance network/ trains. All parties must complete a request to be assessed by Queensland Rail before filming can commence. This detail and link is for requests specifically for filming in, on or around Queensland Rail Travel long distance services.
Please visit the
Queensland Rail website for City Network guidelines.
At a minimum processing and approval of a request may take two (2) weeks to finalise. Because we are a fully operating railway if your application is commenced inside that time period it is unlikely that it will be processed.
Each request is considered on its merit and there are no guarantees of permission being granted. Safety is our number one priority and this will guide our decision whether or not to allow the request. Applications will also be considered having regard to the benefits for Queensland Rail and your alignment with our brand and values.
For your Request to progress with us, we request the following from you:
- A certificate of currency for a minimum of $20 million public liability insurance
- Your execution of the Queensland Rail Photography and Filming Partnership Agreement (a draft of which can be accessed below)
- Any other information we may reasonably require to assess your application or enable your filming activity to proceed.
